Amazing Waterfalls to See in Dominica

Victoria Falls

One of the most impressive and photogenic waterfalls on the island, the Victoria Waterfall, in Morne Trois Pitons National Park, is formed by the White River cascading over a cliff into a warm pool below.

Trafalgar Falls

The side-by-side Dominica waterfalls known as Trafalgar Falls are truly a sight to see. The larger of the two, known as "Father," is just over 200 feet tall, while the smaller "Mother" falls comes in at just over 100 feet. Here, you have the option to swim in the cool waters beneath the falls or enjoy the natural hot springs nearby.

Middleham Falls

Hidden deep within Morne Trois Pitons National Park, this Caribbean waterfall is over 200 feet tall and requires a bit of a trek through the rainforest to get to — you must climb roughly 600 feet up and over a ridge to reach this stunning spot. Along the way, you may spot an agouti (cousin of the guinea pig) or purple-throated hummingbirds. Those who are able to make this 90-minute hike are rewarded with a pristine waterfall that is visited by very few travellers.

Other Stunning Places to Visit in Dominica

Boiling Lake

Geologists believe the 63-meter-wide actively boiling lake (the world's second-largest) to be a flooded fumarole - a crack in the earth, allowing hot gases to vent from the molten lava below. The temperature at the edge of the lake ranges between 82°C and 92°C and is at boiling point in the centre. After a rain, the trail becomes slick and muddy.

Cabrits National Park

In the Northwest of Dominica, Cabrits National Park preserves lush rainforest, swampland, black-sand beaches, and thriving coral reefs. This scenic peninsula boasts panoramic views from its highest point, and the reefs offer some excellent snorkelling and diving opportunities. Also found in the park are the remains of Fort Shirley, an 18th-century British garrison with beautiful views of Prince Rupert Bay.

Roseau

Framed by lush peaks, Dominica's capital of Roseau (pronounced "roze-o") is a colourful jumble of West Indian cottages, modern buildings, and busy market stalls with a cool vibe. Roseau's waterfront features a seaside promenade and cruise ship dock, which is crowded with visitors during the busy winter season.
